The CPDM in the Mifi Division of the West region is said to be in disarray over a non-indigenous leadership. The row is believed to have been provoked by the frequent visits to Yaounde of the youth wing president Hypolite Choutezo. Eden learnt that the YCPDM Section president is accused of backstabbing his colleagues during his frequent visits to the nation’s capital. This has further led to a situation where the issue of non-indigenous leadership has cropped up. Hypolite Tchoutezo from the Bamboutous division, WCPDM Section president, Beatrice Kenfack from the North West region and married to a native of Dschang in the West region are said to be victims of the non-indigene attacks. During one of his recent outings to campaign for unity to reign in the section, the section president of the CPDM Mifi centre, Dr Foka Foka, called on the political wrangling to stop. He cautioned sub section presidents to go into real business, check their registers and communicate to him those positions that are not occupied. They include dead, resigned and the inactive executive members. He frowned at some of the so-called militants whom he described as wolfs in sheep’s skin. He confidently briefed the militants that though backstabbers are working against his section, he is confident that come the 2011 presidential and future legislative and municipal elections, some of them will become mayors, councilors and parliamentarians. The was the reason he called on the militants to give the Head of State and chairman of the CPDM the maximum support so that he should be re-elected in the 2011 presidential polls. On his part, the president of the Ndiadam CPDM sub section, Rene Kamgaing, told the section president and entourage that the Head of State and National Chairman of the CPDM party remains their natural candidate. He called on the section president not to take all that long before making rounds in the sub sections. He equally reminded him to know that this is a more critical political turning point which must be taken seriously. Worthy of noting is the fact that the political crises in the Mifi Centre CPDM regenerated from the rejection of a municipal list of the 2007 election. The Social Democratic Front, SDF, reproached the constituted list of the CPDM, saying that Dr Foka Foka, one time staunch militant of the SDF did not officially tender his resignation letter before joining the CPDM. |
